October 8th, 2023 - A Sporting Clays Shooting Event to Benefit Kittitas County Young Life
Fundraiser Event for Young Life
This event is hosted and operated by Red's Fly Shop in the Yakima Canyon to support our local Kittitas County Young Life Chapter.
The course offers 25 challenging shots at 7 stations, most of which have 2 traps. The course is designed to be shot with "report pairs" where the trapper, holding the wireless remote, throws the 2nd bird immediately after the shooter fires at the first target. It is a great time and you will enjoy this course. For a casual shoot like this event, shooters will call for each target individually which makes it much more beginner friendly.
The course meanders through a spectacular basalt rimmed canyon located just minutes from Canyon River Ranch Resort. Check in will happen directly at the course entrance (directions will be emailed to you). Feel free to stop into Red's for an Espresso or some shopping, but shooters are welcome to proceed directly to the course entrance located 1/2 mile south of Red's. Parking is limited so car-pooling and efficient parking is encouraged.
Turkey Shoot Details
The goal is safe clean family fun, it's really not a competitive event outside of your own group. However... some of you will take home a free turkey as well. Perfect timing for the big holiday celebration.
Shooters will enjoy the (7) station course and every so often a uniquely colored clay target will be thrown in place of the standard orange! As soon as shooters see this new clay its a lot of pressure! Don't miss, it's worth a turkey. Many shooters will go from hitting everything target to a complete whiff. It's hillairous as long as you aren't the shooter. If you can handle the pressure and hit the special target you win a turkey. We will have a total of (10) turkeys and will give them out while supplies last.
Cost and Details:
- The course takes +/- 2 hours to complete a 25 shot round.
- Shooters may arrive anytime between 10:30 am and 1 pm.
- Groups of 4+ may shoot together, smaller groups and pairs will be combined.
- $75 per shooter - 25 shot round includes ammo (12 or 20 gauge)
- $125 per shooter - 50 shot round includes ammo (12 or 20 gauge)

Registration and Payment Policy
This event takes some planning and we hope that everyone that reserves a spot ends up making it out to burn some gun powder. Cancellations made by the customer less than 7 days from the start time will forfeit 50% of the total cost (which will then be donated to YL). No shows or sub 24 hour cancellations will forfeit the entire fee.
If you cancel more than 7 days from the start time, you may request a refund - 5% to cover processing fees and labor. The other option is to donate it to YL. Just let us know and we'll send your entry fee that way.
